The Students should be able to:
– List the differential diagnosis for pelvic pain and explain how to differentiate the symptoms and physical findings in acute Salpingitis from those in acute Appendicitis.
– List and classify common organisms that may be responsible for acute PID
– Describe signs and symptoms, methods of diagnosis and treatment
– Describe the sequelae of acute Salpingitis, including:
a. Tubovarian abscess
b. Chronic Salpingitis
c. Ectopic pregnancy
d. Infertility
– Provide patient education regarding prevention of Salpingitis
