This unit provides an essential framework and fundamental principles of initial assessment and management of trauma patients and is intended as an introduction for Basic Trauma Resuscitation Skills for Undergraduates and draws on the Advanced Trauma Life Support
Learning Objectives #
At the end of this module students will be able to:
1. Describe the TEAM concepts in the assessment and management of the simulated trauma patient
2. Identify the correct sequence of management priorities (Primary Survey)
3. Describe the appropriate techniques of resuscitation
4. Perform a complete Secondary Survey recognizing value of patient’s history and mechanism of injury
