Description #
This lecture begins with a brief overview of diabetes, and the general lab diagnostic criteria for type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. We will then discuss appropriate laboratory investigations for monitoring diabetes and provide an explanation for lab abnormalities in Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic state (HHS). Finally, this lecture will explore glucose control in plasma.
