Fetal Surveillance in Labour
Ongoing assessment of the fetus is a component of intrapartum care.
The SOGC Guideline of Fetal Surveillance provides evidence to support the use of Intermittent Auscultation in labour in select low risk women experiencing a normal pregnancy, labour and birth. In the event of and abnormal finding on I.A. or risk factors associated with adverse perinatal outcome, the use of electronic fetal monitoring is indicated.
Participants are encouraged to post any comments or questions on the Discussion Board located below under Module Resources, and in the right column. All participants are able to post and reply. Your facilitator will monitor the discussions and assist when necessary.
